More Corona

Well, since the last update Covid-19 cases in Nebraska have risen. We are still sitting pretty well in comparison to other states but that could all change rapidly. Nebraska doesn’t have a stay at home order but many states do.  Harper has started doing school with instruction from a video her teacher posts online. She’s done much better with this teaching method- she has to send her teacher pictures of completed schoolwork and videos of her reading. She has gotten to have a zoom meeting with her class which is a highlight of her Monday’s!

The kids are getting along better now then they have in quite awhile- better go knock on some wood!  We had some nice days which have helped a ton! They’ve done quite well but as you can see- we still have our moments!

I’m still plugging along at work but would be lying if I said I enjoyed my job right now. While I enjoy my patients and love being a nurse, work is not a pleasant place to be. Most of us are very anxious about bringing something home to our families or getting sick ourselves.  It’ll be a miracle if I can keep my hands moist through this ordeal.  As an employee, I have my temperature and any symptoms screened for every shift. I get to wear this fancy get up every day, all day!

Doing my best at making sure everything I bring into work gets sanitized before I leave work and I’m changing clothes at work and showering right when getting home.  My department had to move areas within the hospital so they could utilize our area for potential covid patients, that being said, nothing at work has felt normal since this whole thing started. My poor kids have seen me cry more in the last few weeks then their entire life- Tyler would probably say the same.

Tyler continues to work from home in his corner of the bedroom, though his desk has grown since this picture was taken. Carter makes Coronavirus jokes all the time, which helps provide a little humor through this sh*** situation. They definitely miss friends, we miss friends, family. We had planned to go to Colorado for Easter but traveling is out of the question.
