The kids were so confident of their skills they went right up the lift. The first time Carter went down the first run, he forgot how to pizza and took a tumble. We didn’t think much of it, and pushed him along to get up and keep going. After a few more runs, he just kept complaining of his shoulder hurting. A quick trip to the bathroom and I felt his collar bone, and instantly knew… he broke it 😬.
When we finally found the rest of the crew, the ski patrol came to check him out- fixing him up with a fancy sling!
Carter and I then ventured to the nearest town, about 20 minutes away to confirm the break! Luckily no surgery, just 6 weeks in a cast. Ice and ibuprofen were his friend the next 24 hours, but he was a champ through it all and took recovery better than expected! Fun fact- he broke his other collarbone during delivery, so this wasn’t his first broken bone!
For those on the mountain, it was a beautiful day for skiing! The girls improved their skills a ton and can’t wait for the next ski trip! We are thankful Uncle Kearney is always willing to go on our adventures with us!
The Super Bowl was on while in Colorado, so Carter was glad his Chiefs came out with the win!
