Colorado getaway!

About a month ago, we were headed out to Colorado! We had a great 6 days spent with Kelsey and Kearney! We broke up the drive with a fun evening at the Burrell Rodeo! The kids loved it, especially Carter! He’s been asking all the time since when we are going to the next rodeo!

The kids did lots of busy, messy activities! Slime, puppy chow, painting rocks! Thanks Kels!

We went to the mountains and climbed one day! The kids absolutely love rock climbing and the adventure that is involved! The older two made me quite nervous with their sense of adventure and no worries at all!

Harper got some girl time at the American Girl Doll store while Carter and the boys got to go golfing! Emma loved her day at the spa- complete with ear piercing, hair do and nail painting!

On the last day, we went to the biggest water park! We opened the park, and we closed the park! It was a long day, but so much fun was had! Poor Carter just wishes he had been 1 inch taller to go on a few more rides! I’m certain we will be going back in the years to come!

Kearney and Ty hit the road for a nice long bike ride!

We always have a great time, despite the long drive and the tears that come with saying goodbye.

First Day of School!

Today was the first day of school for Harper and Carter! Harper started 1st grade and was ready and excited for school this year! Carter on the other hand, not so much. Some tears may have been shed by a few of us, but he did it and had a great time! I think once he gets into the groove of going to school, he will definitely love it!

Mom and Harlow had a quiet morning at home, she was quite bummed she couldn’t go to school with big brother or sister. She really wanted her picture taken today too!

Check up time!

Well quite awhile ago, the kids had their check ups! My how they’ve grown! I love how the kids just open up to the Dr like they see him every day- thankfully we don’t!

Here are Harper’s stats! I feel as though the height last visit was a little generous because we seem to think she has gotten really tall over the past year! She lucked out and didn’t have to have any shots! She does have an area on her hip, that is almost like warts that she has to have checked out by a dermatologist this fall.

Carter was all confident going in to his appointment and the minute he heard he was getting shots, he was a nervous nelly. We’ve noticed that he seems to have issues with a bit of anxiety and does not like when he doesn’t know exactly what is going to happen. We are hoping that starting preschool will help some of that- however the other morning he told me he really didn’t want to go to preschool because he would miss me! He can definitely be a mama’s boy! Well anyway, his shots were pretty comical and quite dramatic for the poor guy. He was still limping on his leg 15 minutes later when we went to visit Tyler’s office :)

Harlow’s grown as well, with the biggest thing being her vocabulary! She is never short of words and always has to get the last word in, usually at 10 decibels higher than everyone else! She’s always talking! She handled her shots much better than her brother, but wasn’t about to talk to the Dr!  I love to compare her and Harper’s stats, based on the clothes she wears that are hand me downs from Harper, I can tell she’s a bit bigger!

We had to have a little fun at the splash pad after such an exhausting appointment for some! We are definitely living up the summer life!

They just had dentist appointments yesterday! Poor Carter has the first cavity 😩 sounds like with the grooves his teeth have, it was inevitable. Boy am I dreading that appointment! Thankfully he will get a little happy juice!  Harper’s teeth look great- just super crowded! We keep saving for those braces that I’m guessing everyone will have to have someday!
