Past weekend fun!

We had a fun day Saturday! Harper and Tyler started the day with fishing in the morning! They finally caught a big one! Ty said the only way he could get Harper to take a picture was to stand behind him :)

We went swimming after lunch. I am amazed at our little fish! She does soo well at the pool! We noticed that she opens her eyes when going under- we cringed every time :) 

Lately she has been shutting the door when playing in her room, after swimming she decided to go for Carter's room. This is how we found her! Swimming sure wears a girl out! 

We spent the night at my parents on Saturday night. This is how Ty found her after getting ready for bed! 

Melts my heart! 

Carter started smiling this past weekend! It is so cute! He's been rather picky about when he smiles :) haven't quite got one on camera yet. 

Check up!

Carter had his 1 month check up on Tuesday, July 21st. He is now 11 pounds 4 ounces (81st percentile) and 22 1/4 inches (79th percentile). Clearly we have a growing boy :) 

The doctor said everything looks great and his collar bone is healing just like it should! He had to have one shot- which he was not impressed about, however I think he was even less impressed when I took the bandaid off :(. 

Harper finished her swimming lessons tonight. She has improved so much from the first lesson! She loved swimming lessons- not to mention she had a great instructor! 

She went from not putting her head under at all to constantly putting her head under and getting rings at the bottom of the pool! We are definitely proud parents! 

The rings were by far her favorite! She was so proud everytime she got them! We are gonna be bummed when swimming season is over :(. 

Carter's Baptism

On Sunday, we celebrated Carter becoming a child of God!! He did a great job and didn't cry at all- in fact he had the darn hiccups. 

We chose Jared and Amanda as sponsors. He is so lucky to have them in his life!

Carter wore the same baptismal outfit and ring as Tiffany's Grandpa Don wore during his baptism, along with a bracelet from Jared and Amanda.

Omaha fun!

We decided to make a quick trip to Omaha this past weekend. When face timing with Kelsey and Kearney earlier in the week, Harper asked if she could go to Kelsey's house- so we made her wish come true! Got a little shopping in, a nice supper and just hung out! A little getaway that mommy might have needed more then everyone else :) 

Made a trip to a splash pad! Harper had fun, I wish there was something similar around Norfolk! 

1 month old!!!

Our sweet little Carter is 1 month old today!

 My how the time has gone so fast!   I try not to think about it too much because I get rather emotional :( I wish time could just stand still for a bit! 

I'm very pleased to say we have not had any sleepless nights! The past few nights he has only waken between 3 and 4- we are certainly not complaining!! 

He's a pretty content baby! Unless you are in the car and he is tired- then we struggle a bit! He is also a challenge to put to sleep for naps- he doesn't like to give in very easy. He is definitely a good eater! 

Harper has adjusted really well to her little brother. She is a huge help! She is always concerned that he has a poopy diaper and we have to put butt paste on with every diaper :). She gets rather upset with you if you give Carter his pacifier without him crying- "he doesn't need it!"

We are so blessed with our children! Our life couldn't get much better then this! 

Random things

Harper has to have her blankie but more so her birk(burp rags). 

As you can see, she usually has more then one! I'm afraid Carter is on the same path :) 

Clearly they both love laying on daddy's chest. 

Harper has been telling Ty and I that we are her "best friends" lately! It melts my heart everytime!

Jameson sure loves his buddy Carter! Can't wait to watch these two grow up and play together!

Fun at the animal show!! And 3 weeks old!

This week is the Madison County Fair so Ty and I decided to take Harper to the rodeo! She kept calling it "The Animal Show!" She loved seeing all the animals. She even got to pet a few! She did really well watching the actual rodeo! 

When you ask what her favorite part is- she says the zebra! 

We had to take a ride on the Ferris wheel! 

Carter got to spend the evening with NaNa and Kendyl. He got his first bottle and was a little piggy with it! 

He is growing so much. Today he is 3 weeks old and has definitely filled out! He is a great baby. His first stretch at night is usually 4-5 hours with 3 hour stretches after that. We can't complain most nights! Harper is loving her little brother, she loves giving him kisses and checking on him! She is a great help in the bath pouring water on him :) 

His baby acne is looking better already! 

Happy Birthday America!!

We celebrated the 4th of July at the Clayton's cabin in Yankton. It was too windy to take the boat out, so instead we sat on the boat and Ty and Harper got some swimming in! 

While in Yankton, we had to stop and feed the ducks and check out the dam! 

We got home just in time for the fireworks, we had done a few the night before and Harper wasn't very excited about the loud noises. She enjoyed the pretty colors of Big Bang Boom from Carter's bedroom window. 

It was a great weekend having Ty home an extra day! Carter is growing like a weed- unfortunately the baby acne hit last week :( 

This is his favorite form of tummy time! He has such a strong neck already! 

First bath tub bath!!

Carter lost his umbilical cord Sunday so we did a regular bath tonight. Harper was especially glad he lost it because she thought it was his owwie and everytime he cried while changing his diapers was because of that. 

He did really well until I washed his face :)

I love how fluffy his hair is after having it washed!
